In episode 1, I discussed how the name of the brand was something I was originally solid on for many years. But how that name wasn't actually Infantry and upon an attempt to trademark that name I was sent quite a firm letter by a very large organisation with the threat of legal action. So what was the first brand name, Overwatch. For those who aren't aware it is a tactical term for a military unit and one that I saw fitting quite well for the father/child relationship.โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

Now for those of us too old or without children old enough, Overwatch is also one of the largest "video games" on planet earth right now ๐โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

The funny thing was they had not one patent in the baby product field at all. They did, however, have that very word absolutely locked down in every other category you could possibly think of especially apparel, which was the killer for me. You name it, bags, hats, shirts, everything!โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ

So back to the drawing board I went. I never had the intention of keeping the brand name in the military space, to be honest.
As we have more products underway that have no inclination towards it at all. I ran thought groups, studied dictionaries and thesauruses, searched high and low until one day it just smacked me in the face, Infantry ๐โโ๏ธWhy hadn't this come up before considering the many years, people and hours spent thinking on the brand? I have no idea...
I can, however, tell you in hindsight, I'm very glad we got here in the end.
